This package has been specifically tried and tested for the Volkswagen Transporter T5 (from 2003 to 2016). The Cobra Le Mans Heritage seat is a luxury reclining sports seat, designed for everyday driving in extreme comfort. Narrow enough for the T5, but still offers side support and space in the cockpit. Unlike some of the other options, this package for the Volkswagen T5 isn't a fixed back and so allows for micro adjustment of back rest with the dual hand wheels.
The Heritage version of the Cobra Le Mans seat adds period fluted stitching on the centre panel and removes the embroidered Cobra logo, for a true retro style.
Significant research and development has been put into creating a bespoke fitting kit for this vehicle, so you can be guaranteed that the seats fit perfectly and safely in your Volkswagen T5. It's almost as if these beautiful sports seats were fitted in the Volkswagen factory as standard.

Please note that the fitting kit supplied includes a vehicle specific frame, seat belt bracket and low profile runners. The installation of this seat package may, in some instances, cause warning lights to be shown on your dashboard. This can normally be fixed using resistors, although it may be necessary to have some warning lights professionally "coded-out".
Please note the passenger side seat frame is designed to be used with a single seat plinth, not with the bench seat. The single seat plinth is available to buy directly from Volkswagen if required.
Please also note that if used in a version of the Transporter with a bulkhead behind the seats (e.g. cargo vans), there will be less range of movement in the tilt and slide mechanisms, compared to versions with no bulkhead (e.g. passenger and camper versions).
Options

- Trim - Standard option is Black soft grain vinyl (luxury leather-like feel) with fluted stitching on centre panel. Upgrade to period Corduroy, Houndstooth or Basketweave fabric centre panel. If you're looking for a leather seat, but you want to keep the cost down, we can also offer the Cobra Le Mans Heritage with leather facings and a vinyl back. For the ultimate upgrade you can opt for custom leather and custom stitching options, or bespoke combination of 2 colour vinyl options (we will contact you to confirm exact requirements for custom upgrades)
- Fitting Kit Height - The standard seat frames are designed to position you at approximately the same height as the original equipment seats. A low seat frame option is available for those that prefer a lower seating position or for people that plan to use the seat frames in conjunction with a swivel base (this has been tried and tested with the Sportscraft swivel base). The low version sits approximately 25mm (1 inch) lower than the standard version.
- Seat Base Side Bolsters - The bases of these seats are available in two different versions; with standard or lowered side bolsters. The standard side bolsters offer additional support and a more traditional sports seat look, however some people prefer the lower version because it makes getting in and out of the vehicle a bit easier. An image of both seat bases is shown.
- Armrests - Flip up armrests can be added to the seats, for added comfort, as shown in the image.
- Heated Seats - Add electric heated seat option to driver side or both sides. Controlled independently and does not require the car to have heated seats as standard. Complete retrofit solution. Please note the kit includes a circuit with a switch and will just need connecting to a 12V supply. It is not designed to integrate with the original equipment wiring.
- Lumbar Support - Pump operated lower back support option, available to be installed on driver side only or both seats. Professional quality and seamlessly built into the seat in the factory.

Instead of spacer fabric as standard, the Le Mans Heritage seat comes in black vinyl, with leather options also available. If you're looking for a leather classic car seat, but you want to keep the cost down, we can also offer the Cobra Le Mans Heritage with leather facings and a vinyl back.
In addition to the different materials, the Cobra Le Mans Historic includes fluted centre panels, and has no embroidered Cobra logo as standard. These subtle tweaks create a seat that will be at home in most classic cars. You get all of the comfort and convenience of a state-of-the-art road seat, with classic styling that will compliment any classic car.
