How many sizes of Disklok are available?
Three different sizes are available. Small (for steering wheels between 35cm and 38.9cm in diameter), Medium (for steering wheels between 39cm and 41.5cm in diameter) and Large (for steering wheels between 41.5cm and 44cm in diameter).
How do I measure my steering wheel to ensure I choose the correct size Disklok for my car?
Just measure the steering wheel from side to side. From the outer edge of the rim to the same point opposite.
Is the Disklok meant to ‘spin’ on the steering wheel?
The Disklok is designed to be loose on the steering wheel. It therefore cannot be used to force the vehicles own steering lock.
How much does the Disklok weigh?
Just under 5 kilos. It is easily handled but does need to be this weight to be effective.
My car has ‘paddles’ just behind the rim of the wheel that enable me to change gear. Will the Disklok clear these?
Yes, Disklok is designed to clear these easily.
Do I need to order a cover with Disklok to protect my leather steering wheel?
It is worth purchasing the cover as it is an inexpensive and easy to use option that protects your leather wheel.
Do I need to order a Disklok storage case?
Disklok is supplied in a purpose made box, but the case is useful as it is made to last and has Velcro strips on one side that ‘stick’ to the carpet in most car boots. This stops it from sliding around.
What is a Disklok Faraday Key Wallet?
The Disklok Faraday Key Wallet is a storage pouch for your keys that blocks any signal they emit. It is highly recommended for keyless start vehicles that criminals can easily break into and steel.
Is Disklok easy to use?
Yes, once you have used it a couple of times it becomes second nature and only takes seconds to fit and remove.
Do Diskloks come with a guarantee?
The guarantee is 3 years, for mechanical faults. In the unlikely event that you need to claim, please contact the manufacturer directly on 01257 795100. They will be able to help but will need proof of purchase.
How many keys are supplied with a Disklok?
Three keys are supplied. We recommend you keep the two spares in a secure place. Remove the tag and keep this separate to the keys. Perhaps take a photo for future reference.
Can I order extra keys for my Disklok?
Yes. You will need the key number from the tag supplied with your original spare keys. You can only order spare keys from the manufacturer direct. Call their Helpline on 01257 795100.
Does the lock of the Disklok need to be oiled regularly?
No, the lock should never be oiled.
Will Disklok work with convex steering wheels that have air bags as standard?
Yes, the shape of the Disklok is slightly convex and allows for this.
Is Disklok designed to be used on right hand drive vehicles only?
It is designed for the UK where we drive on the left of the road in right hand drive vehicles.
Will a Disklok fit my left hand drive vehicle?
If there is space to the left of the steering wheel (for example on a left hand drive camper van) it will usually fit. If the left hand drive vehicle is a small foreign sports car it probably won’t as the top bar will not have enough clearance between the steering wheel and the side window.
Do you sell left hand drive Diskloks?
No, we only sell right hand drive Diskloks that are suitable for use on UK spec cars.
Do I get a Disklok window sticker with my Disklok?
Yes, a self-cling stick is supplied with every Disklok.
Are all the Diskloks and accessories you supply brand new?
Yes, we only supply brand new first quality Diskloks and Disklok accessories.
Why don’t Carnoisseur sell other types of steering wheel locks?
We believe Disklok to be the best on the market. Other locks can simply be removed by hacksawing through the rim of the steering wheel therefore we cannot endorse them.
Why do people buy Diskloks?
In our opinion they are the best on the market. Many cars are relatively easy to steal, especially those with push button key start. They can be cloned and simply driven away. Disklok provides a simple and effective solution. It is also a visual deterrent.
